Graduation and Withdrawal from the University

Graduation

Article 33-(1) A student must obtain the total ECTS credits determined by the program board and approved by the Senate, have completed their internships, if any, and complete that program with a minimum GPA of 2.00 in order to graduate from the diploma program in which he / she is enrolled. GPA is also the graduation average grade point.

(2) (Amended: RG-14/1 / 2017-29948) A student must  pass all the credit courses with at least DD grade in order to graduate. The student has to repeat the previously taken and failed (FF, FD, DS) courses and succeed them with at least DD.

(3) Students can take equivalent courses or be considered successful from this course, instead of the courses subsequently removed from the program that they failed or failed to take, with the same ECTS credits approved by the relevant unit board. If the students are accepted as successful from the course, the student has to take another course at least equivalent to the ECTS credit of the course that they are accepted as successful, and if a single course fails to meet the required ECTS credits, they must take more than one course.

 

Diplomas

 

ARTICLE 34 - (1) Students who successfully complete their education programs are given their diplomas upon completion of the program.

(2) In addition, graduate students are given diploma and diploma supplement along with a transcript indicating their success grades, all the courses taken in education and training programs, their applications and their course hours; the project, laboratory, graduation project, seminar, graduation thesis and compulsory internship that they have taken.

(3) Diplomas given by the Directorate of Student Affairs (Registrar's Office) are printed in accordance with a sample accepted by the Senate. Diplomas are prepared in both Turkish and the relevant foreign language.

(4) Until the diplomas are prepared, a temporary graduation certificate can be given to students when it is necessary. This document must be returned when the diploma is given. The graduation date is the next working day after the exams end.

(5) (Amended: RG-5/1 / 2016-29584) On the front side of the diplomas: The student's T.R . ID number, name and surname, diploma number, the name of the program / department he / she has achieved at the undergraduate and associate degree level, the date of graduation, the title obtained for the students of the engineering and architecture faculties, the hot stamped hologram can be seen; in addition, there are electronic signatures of the Rector and the dean in faculties, the Rector and the director of the vocational school in vocational schools, the Rector and the director of the state conservatory in the state conservatory, the Rector and the director of the vocational school on the front side of the diplomas.

(6) (Repealed: RG-5/1 / 2016-29584)

(7) Diplomas are stamped with the cold stamp by the Rectorate.

(8) At the end of the program, graduates who do not receive any disciplinary action and have a GPA between 3.00 and 3.49 graduate as honorary students, and  graduates who do not receive any disciplinary action  and have a GPA between 3.50-4.00 a graduate as high honor students. This information is stated in the student's transcript and diploma supplement.

 

 

Getting Associate Degree or Adaptation to Vocational Schools

 

 ARTICLE 6 - (1) For students who cannot complete their undergraduate education, to get an associate degree diploma or to be adapted to vocational high schools according to the provisions of the regulation on the registration of associate degree diploma or adaptation to vocational schools of those who did not complete their undergraduate education or cannot complete their undergraduate education (Lisans Öğrenimlerini Tamamlamayan veya Tamamlayamayanların Ön Lisans Diploması Almaları veya Meslek Yüksekokullarına İntibakları Hakkında Yönetmelik ) which was published in the Official Gazette dated 18/3/1989 and numbered 20112.

 

Issuing Diplomas

 

PROVISIONAL ARTICLE 1 - (1) Students who study at the departments which are affiliated to Adiyaman University from Gaziantep University, Inönü University and Harran University are also subject to this regulation. In accordance with the provisional article 35 of the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions dated 28/3/1983 and numbered 2809, the diplomas of these students are issued by Adiyaman University or the university to which they were previously affiliated, based on their demands.

Document to be Given in Case of Loss of Diploma

 

ARTICLE 35 - (1) Diploma is given only for once. In case of loss of the diploma, the second copy of the diploma is issued.

 

Suspension of Registration

 

ARTICLE 31 - (1) If a student who has to interrupt his education due to justified and valid reasons stated in Article 30 cannot meet the attendance conditions in Article 19 for the period that  he cannot use due to his excuse, his registration for that semester or year is suspended.

(2) Suspension of registration covers the period from the beginning of the semester / year to the end of the exams for that semester / year. If the registration suspension application is before the registration renewal period, no tuition / tuition fee is charged; the tuition / tuition fee paid during the semester will not be refunded.

(3) The period of suspension of registration is at most one year due to justified and valid reasons to be deemed appropriate by the relevant board of directors, except for reasons such as health reasons, detention, military service.

 

Registration Deletion and Deregistration

 

ARTICLE 36 - (1) If one of the following situations is determined, the students are dismissed from the university by the decision of the board of directors of the relevant unit.

  1. a) Cancellation of the registration process due to the understanding that the final registration process has not been duly completed or the final registration has not been granted.
  2. b) Being dismissed from the university in accordance with the Higher Education Institutions Student Discipline Regulations.
  3. c) (Annex: RG-5/1 / 2016-29584) Failure to complete the education at the end of the maximum period.

ç) (Annex: OG-5/1 / 2016-29584) Decision to terminate the relationship with the recommendation of the relevant unit board of directors, the decision of the University Administrative Board and the approval of the Higher Education Council due to the failure to pay the tuition fee for four consecutive years.

(2) Those who will leave the university voluntarily apply to the Registrar's Office in writing. Provided that the student whose registration is canceled upon application returns his / her ID; a document showing the education status in the higher education program he enrolled in, the diplomas and other documents submitted at the entrance are given. All student rights of students who leave the university voluntarily end. In case of deregistration or cancellation, tuition fees from students are not refunded.
