However, a minimum undergraduate GPA requirement may be imposed upon the recommendation of the head of the department and the approval of the relevant institute board of directors. ALES scores are not required for admission to the departments and mainstream branches of fine arts faculties and conservatories. Foreign student admission is made according to the principles in Article 9.

However, in departments providing foreign language education, candidates must have obtained at least 80 or equivalent points from the foreign language exam for master's degree.

Candidates with a general grade of at least 65 are considered successful. Successful candidates are ranked according to their general success grade and students are accepted according to quotas. In case of equality of general success grade, priority is given to those with high ALES grade. In this case, if the equality is not broken, it is determined by a draw. If the grade point average of the candidate is not given in the 100-point system but in 4-point grading system or in another system, the equivalent in the 100-point system is taken according to the conversion table determined by YÖK.
  4. d) In evaluating the success of the candidates who applied to postgraduate programs in the fields of physical education and sports; candidates who get at least 65 points are ranked according to the sum of 60% of ALES score, 20% of undergraduate graduation grade average and 20% of MEBÖD exam grade. In case of equality, the provisions of clause (c) are applied.
  5. e) In order to apply to graduate programs at the faculty of fine arts and conservatory, the candidates must have a bachelor's degree deemed appropriate by the relevant department/art major. Candidates with a general grade of at least 65 are considered successful. Successful candidates are ranked according to their general success grade and students are accepted according to quotas. 8. h) In basic medical sciences, the success grade of the entrance exam for doctoral programs must be at least 70 points. The success grade is obtained from the sum of 50% of the relevant ALES or basic medicine score, 35% of the undergraduate graduation grade average and 15% of the foreign language exam grade.
